Betty Patton

Betty Patton founded
Environmental Practices in April of 1993 as a consulting firm in the Portland
metropolitan area. Betty’s fifteen years experience in the design,
implementation, and evaluation of solid waste and recycling programs has given
her a broad perspective on the needs and trends in the field.
Ms. Patton has
demonstrated a variety of skills through the projects she has completed over the
past years. She has:

Designed and implemented waste
characterization studies of various sizes, using various methods.

Implemented data collection
services for short and long term field studies.

Created education and outreach
tools for waste prevention.

Compiled and evaluated data
for the solid waste industry as well as other areas.
As project manager for a
variety of projects in the area, she has

Studied particular industries
and their material handling techniques.

Documented the effects of
program and policy changes on material diversion rates, and researched information and
opportunities for program and policy changes.
Betty
Patton received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from University of Houston, Texas in 1980. She began working in recycling as a volunteer in 1988 in
Texas, creating recycling opportunities for the community. In 1993 she began
Environmental Practices, a solid waste consulting firm in Portland. She has been
active in various industry organizations, such as Association of Oregon
Recyclers since 1993 and is currently on the board of AOR.

Lee-Berman

Richard Lee-Berman
manages Information Technology at Environmental Practices and is an assistant to
Ms. Patton. He has been with Environmental Practices since 2004.
